Description

Savory Garlic Shiitake Mushrooms sautéed in butter and olive oil, finished with fresh parsley for a rich, glossy, and deeply flavorful side dish that comes together in minutes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound fresh shiitake mushrooms, stems trimmed
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  1. Place a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add olive oil and unsalted butter to the skillet and allow the butter to melt completely.
  3. Add the shiitake mushrooms in a single layer and let them cook undisturbed for 3 to 4 minutes.
  4. Stir and continue cooking for a total of 8 to 10 minutes until mushrooms are golden brown and tender.
  5. Add minced garlic during the last 2 minutes of cooking and stir gently until fragrant.
  6. Season with salt and black pepper.
  7. Remove from heat and sprinkle with chopped fresh parsley.
  8. Serve immediately while warm and glossy.

Notes

  • Do not overcrowd the pan to ensure proper browning.
  • Add garlic toward the end to prevent burning.
  • Pat mushrooms dry before cooking for better caramelization.
