Description

Sweet, crunchy candied pecans coated in a cinnamon sugar glaze with hints of vanilla and butter, baked until perfectly crisp and golden for an irresistible snack or topping.


Ingredients

  • 3 cups (300 grams) pecan halves
  • 1/2 cup (100 grams) granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup (50 grams) brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon (14 grams) unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 large egg white


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 300°F (150°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk the egg white until frothy.
  3. Stir in the melted butter and vanilla extract.
  4. Add the pecan halves and toss until evenly coated.
  5. In a separate bowl, mix granulated sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt.
  6. Sprinkle the sugar mixture over the pecans and toss until fully coated.
  7. Spread the pecans in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet.
  8. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, stirring halfway through, until golden and fragrant.
  9. Remove from the oven and allow to cool completely on the baking sheet until crisp.
  10. Break apart any clusters and store in an airtight container.
