Description

A bold and satisfying wrap filled with juicy spiced chicken, crisp lettuce, fresh tomato, red onion, and a cool creamy yogurt sauce, all tucked into a warm tortilla for an easy meal packed with flavor.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken thighs, cut into strips
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons plain yogurt
  • 2 teaspoons paprika
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 4 large flour tortillas
  • 2 cups shredded romaine lettuce
  • 2 medium tomatoes, sliced thin
  • 1/2 medium red onion, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 cup plain yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Heat a large skillet or grill pan over medium-high heat.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the chicken thighs, olive oil, 2 tablespoons plain yogurt, paprika, cumin, chili powder, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, 3/4 teaspoon salt, and black pepper. Toss well and marinate for at least 30 minutes.
  3. In a small bowl, stir together 1/2 cup plain yogurt, mayonnaise, lemon juice, minced garlic, and 1/4 teaspoon salt to make the sauce.
  4. Cook the marinated chicken in the hot skillet for 8 to 10 minutes, turning as needed, until browned and fully cooked.
  5. Let the chicken rest for a few minutes, then slice if needed.
  6. Warm the tortillas briefly until soft and pliable.
  7. Assemble each tortilla with shredded romaine lettuce, sliced tomatoes, red onion, cooked chicken, and a spoonful of sauce.
  8. For a lightly crisp finish, return the assembled wraps to the skillet for 1 to 2 minutes per side, seam side down first.
  9. Slice and serve warm with extra sauce if desired.

Notes

  • Marinating the chicken longer, up to 4 hours, gives deeper flavor.
  • Keep the vegetables and sauce separate until serving for the freshest texture.
  • Reduce the cayenne pepper for a milder wrap.
  • Leftover chicken works well in bowls, salads, or quesadillas.
