Description

Soft and tender Pink Velvet Sugar Cookies topped with a creamy, slightly tangy cream cheese frosting. These bakery style cookies have a delicate vanilla flavor, a beautiful blush color, and a thick swirl of frosting that makes them perfect for celebrations or everyday treats.


Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • Pink food coloring, a few drops
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 3 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 to 2 tablespoons milk


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together all purpose flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, beat softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add eggs, vanilla extract, and pink food coloring, mixing until smooth and evenly colored.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until just combined.
  6. Scoop dough into even balls and place on prepared baking sheets, spacing evenly. Gently flatten each dough ball slightly.
  7. Bake for 9 to 11 minutes, until edges are set but centers remain soft.
  8. Allow cookies to cool completely on a cooling rack.
  9. For the frosting, beat cream cheese until smooth, then gradually add powdered sugar and milk until creamy and spreadable.
  10. Pipe or spread frosting in a swirl on each cooled cookie before serving.

Notes

  • Do not overbake, the cookies should remain soft in the center.
  • Use room temperature butter and cream cheese for smooth mixing.
