Description

Fluffy white rice gently cooked with garlic, butter, and herbs, creating a simple yet flavorful side dish that pairs beautifully with almost any meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup uncooked white rice
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon mixed dried herbs
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Rinse the rice under cold water until the water runs clear.
  2. Place a saucepan over medium heat and melt the butter.
  3. Add the minced garlic and sauté gently until fragrant.
  4. Add the rinsed rice to the pan and stir to coat with butter and garlic.
  5. Add water, salt, black pepper, and dried herbs, then bring to a gentle simmer.
  6. Cover with a lid, reduce heat to low, and cook for 15 minutes.
  7. Remove from heat and let the rice rest, covered, for 5 minutes.
  8. Fluff the rice with a fork and stir in the fresh parsley.
  9. Serve warm.

Notes

  • Rinsing the rice helps keep the grains fluffy.
  • Letting the rice rest before fluffing improves texture.
  • Adjust herbs to match the main dish.
