Description

A quick, healthy, and flavorful stir fry made with lean ground beef, crisp cabbage, and a savory Asian-style sauce. Perfect for a low-carb, high-protein meal.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 4 cups green cabbage, thinly sliced
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
  • 2 tablespoons low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon sriracha (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 green onions, sliced (for garnish)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
  2. Add the diced onion and sauté for 2-3 minutes until softened.
  3. Stir in garlic and ginger, cooking for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it up with a spoon as it cooks.
  5. Drain excess fat if necessary.
  6. Add cabbage to the skillet and cook for 4-5 minutes until it starts to soften but still has a bit of crunch.
  7. Stir in soy sauce, sesame oil, rice vinegar, and sriracha (if using). Mix everything well and cook for another 2 minutes.
  8. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  9. Remove from heat and garnish with green onions before serving.

Notes

  • Use ground turkey or chicken as a leaner alternative to beef.
  • Add shredded carrots or bell peppers for more color and nutrition.
  • Serve over cauliflower rice for a low-carb option or jasmine rice for a classic touch.
