Description

Savory garlic fried rice tossed with fluffy jasmine grains and tender glazed steak bites seared to perfection. This bold, satisfying meal delivers buttery garlic aroma, caramelized steak edges, and a glossy soy honey glaze in every bite.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups cooked jasmine rice, chilled
  • 700 grams sirloin steak, cut into bite sized cubes
  • 6 garlic cloves, minced
  • 4 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 large eggs, lightly beaten
  • 1/2 cup green onions, sliced
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Heat a large skillet or wok over medium high heat.
  2. In a small bowl, mix soy sauce and honey to create the glaze. Set aside.
  3. Add 1 tablespoon olive oil to the hot pan.
  4. Add steak cubes in a single layer and sear for 2 to 3 minutes per side until browned. Remove from pan and set aside.
  5. Add butter and remaining olive oil to the same pan. Sauté minced garlic for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  6. Add beaten eggs and scramble gently until just set.
  7. Stir in chilled cooked rice and toss well to combine. Season with salt and black pepper.
  8. Return steak to the pan and pour in the soy honey glaze. Toss everything together and cook for 2 to 3 minutes until glossy and heated through.
  9. Stir in sliced green onions, remove from heat, and serve hot.

Notes

  • Use day old chilled rice for the best texture and separated grains.
  • Cook steak in batches if needed to avoid overcrowding the pan.
  • Do not overcook the steak to keep it tender and juicy.
  • Taste and adjust glaze sweetness or salt before serving.
