Ingredients
Scale
- 4 cups cooked jasmine rice, chilled
- 700 grams sirloin steak, cut into bite sized cubes
- 6 garlic cloves, minced
- 4 tablespoons soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 large eggs, lightly beaten
- 1/2 cup green onions, sliced
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
- Heat a large skillet or wok over medium high heat.
- In a small bowl, mix soy sauce and honey to create the glaze. Set aside.
- Add 1 tablespoon olive oil to the hot pan.
- Add steak cubes in a single layer and sear for 2 to 3 minutes per side until browned. Remove from pan and set aside.
- Add butter and remaining olive oil to the same pan. Sauté minced garlic for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Add beaten eggs and scramble gently until just set.
- Stir in chilled cooked rice and toss well to combine. Season with salt and black pepper.
- Return steak to the pan and pour in the soy honey glaze. Toss everything together and cook for 2 to 3 minutes until glossy and heated through.
- Stir in sliced green onions, remove from heat, and serve hot.
Notes
- Use day old chilled rice for the best texture and separated grains.
- Cook steak in batches if needed to avoid overcrowding the pan.
- Do not overcook the steak to keep it tender and juicy.
- Taste and adjust glaze sweetness or salt before serving.
