Description
Crispy air fryer feta coated in seasoned breadcrumbs, golden on the outside and warm and creamy inside. A simple Milanese style dish that makes the perfect appetizer or light meal.

- 1 block feta cheese, about 200 grams
- 1/2 cup all purpose flour, about 60 grams
- 2 large eggs, beaten
- 1 cup breadcrumbs, about 100 grams
- 1 tablespoon olive oil, lightly sprayed or brushed
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- 1 whole lemon, cut into wedges for serving
Instructions
- Preheat Your Equipment: Preheat the air fryer to 190°C for about 3 minutes.
- Combine Ingredients: Place flour in one shallow bowl. In a second bowl, beat the eggs. In a third bowl, mix breadcrumbs with dried oregano, salt, and black pepper.
- Prepare Your Cooking Vessel: Pat the feta block dry. Dredge it in flour, coating all sides. Dip into the beaten eggs, then press firmly into the breadcrumb mixture until fully coated.
- Assemble the Dish: Lightly spray or brush the breaded feta with olive oil. Place it gently into the air fryer basket.
- Cook to Perfection: Air fry for 8 to 10 minutes until golden brown and crisp on the outside.
- Finishing Touches: Carefully remove from the air fryer and let rest for 2 to 3 minutes to set.
- Serve and Enjoy: Slice gently and serve warm with fresh lemon wedges.
Notes
- Chill the breaded feta for 15 minutes before cooking to help the coating stick.
- Use panko breadcrumbs for extra crunch if desired.
- Do not add too much salt since feta is naturally salty.
- Reheat leftovers in the air fryer for 3 to 4 minutes to restore crispness.
