- 8 turkey bacon strips
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon salt, or to taste
- 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 190 degrees Celsius.
- In a small bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, and honey until smooth. Set aside.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Season the chicken breasts with salt, black pepper, paprika, and garlic powder on both sides.
- Sear the chicken in the skillet for 5 to 6 minutes per side until golden brown. Remove and place in a baking dish.
- In the same skillet, sauté the sliced mushrooms until tender and lightly browned.
- Spoon honey mustard sauce over each chicken breast. Top with sautéed mushrooms and crispy turkey bacon strips.
- Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the top.
- Bake for 10 to 15 minutes, until the cheese is melted and the internal temperature of the chicken reaches 75 degrees Celsius.
- Remove from the oven and let rest for 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
- Pound the chicken to even thickness for consistent cooking.
- Use freshly shredded cheese for smoother melting.
- Adjust honey or mustard in the sauce to balance sweetness and tang.
