Description

Soft bread rolled with cinnamon sugar, dipped in a rich egg mixture, pan cooked until golden, then coated in more cinnamon sugar and finished with a creamy glaze. These Cinnamon Roll French Toast Rolls are warm, sweet, and perfect for brunch or breakfast.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 10 slices white sandwich bread
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/3 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Heat a non stick skillet over medium heat and melt 2 tablespoons unsalted butter.
  2. In one bowl, mix 1/2 cup granulated sugar with 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together 2 large eggs and 1/3 cup milk until smooth.
  4. Trim crusts from 10 slices of bread and flatten each slice with a rolling pin.
  5. Sprinkle cinnamon sugar over each slice, then roll tightly.
  6. Dip each roll briefly into the egg mixture, coating all sides lightly.
  7. Place rolls seam side down in the skillet and cook, turning gently, until all sides are golden brown.
  8. Roll warm pieces in the remaining cinnamon sugar.
  9. In a bowl, whisk 4 ounces softened cream cheese with 1/2 cup powdered sugar and 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract until smooth.
  10. Drizzle glaze over the rolls and serve warm.

Notes

  • Do not over soak the rolls in the egg mixture to avoid sogginess.
  • Cook over medium heat to prevent burning the sugar coating.
  • Serve warm for the best texture and flavor.
  • Reheat in a skillet or air fryer to restore crispness.
