Description

Soft and fudgy chocolate cookies rolled in festive heart sprinkles and topped with a creamy milk chocolate heart candy, perfect for celebrations and sweet gifting.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 3/4 cups all purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup red pink and white heart sprinkles
  • 12 milk chocolate heart candies

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In a separate bowl, cream softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until fully combined.
  5. Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until a soft dough forms.
  6. Place heart sprinkles in a small bowl.
  7. Scoop tablespoon sized portions of dough and roll into balls.
  8. Roll each dough ball in the sprinkles to coat the outside evenly.
  9. Place on prepared baking sheets about 2 inches apart.
  10. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes until the edges are set but centers remain soft.
  11. Immediately press one milk chocolate heart candy into the center of each warm cookie.
  12. Allow cookies to cool completely before serving.

Notes

  • Do not overbake to keep the cookies soft and fudgy.
  • Press the chocolate hearts gently so they stay centered and glossy.
  • If the dough feels too soft, chill for 15 to 20 minutes before rolling.
