- 2 cups old fashioned rolled oats
- 1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
- 1 cup brown sugar, packed
- 3/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 can (14 ounces) sweetened condensed milk
- 1 cup caramel sauce
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and line an 8×8 inch baking pan with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, combine rolled oats, flour, brown sugar, baking soda, and salt.
- Stir in melted butter and vanilla extract until a crumbly dough forms.
- Press two thirds of the oat mixture firmly into the bottom of the prepared pan.
- In a separate bowl, mix sweetened condensed milk and caramel sauce until smooth.
- Pour the caramel mixture evenly over the base layer.
- Sprinkle the remaining oat mixture evenly over the caramel layer.
- Bake for 25 to 30 minutes until the top is golden brown.
- Allow the bars to cool completely before lifting from the pan and slicing into 12 squares.
Notes
- Let the bars cool fully to allow the caramel layer to set properly.
- Use thick caramel sauce for the best gooey texture.
- Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 4 days.
- For cleaner slices, chill slightly before cutting.
