Description

Chewy oat bars layered with a rich, gooey caramel center and a buttery crumble topping, perfect for an indulgent homemade dessert.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups old fashioned rolled oats
  • 1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 can (14 ounces) sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 cup caramel sauce

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and line an 8×8 inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, combine rolled oats, flour, brown sugar, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Stir in melted butter and vanilla extract until a crumbly dough forms.
  4. Press two thirds of the oat mixture firmly into the bottom of the prepared pan.
  5. In a separate bowl, mix sweetened condensed milk and caramel sauce until smooth.
  6. Pour the caramel mixture evenly over the base layer.
  7. Sprinkle the remaining oat mixture evenly over the caramel layer.
  8. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes until the top is golden brown.
  9. Allow the bars to cool completely before lifting from the pan and slicing into 12 squares.

Notes

  • Let the bars cool fully to allow the caramel layer to set properly.
  • Use thick caramel sauce for the best gooey texture.
  • Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 4 days.
  • For cleaner slices, chill slightly before cutting.
