Description

Soft, fluffy dumplings wrapped in thin savory beef slices and baked until lightly golden. A comforting, hearty dish that pairs perfectly with soup, salad, or roasted vegetables.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, cold and cubed
  • 8 thin slices raw beef
  • 1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 190 degrees Celsius and lightly grease a baking dish.
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and black pepper.
  3. Add the cold cubed butter and cut it into the flour mixture using a pastry cutter or fork until it resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Pour in the milk and stir gently until a soft dough forms. Do not overmix.
  5. Lightly flour your hands and divide the dough into 8 equal portions.
  6. Shape each portion into a ball.
  7. Wrap each dough ball with one thin slice of raw beef and place seam side down in the prepared baking dish.
  8. Sprinkle chopped fresh parsley over the top.
  9. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes until golden on top and cooked through.
  10. Allow to cool for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • Handle the dough gently to keep the dumplings soft and fluffy.
  • Use cold butter for the best texture.
  • Do not overbake to prevent dryness.
  • Brush lightly with melted butter after baking for extra richness if desired.
