Description
Toasted Milk Marble Cookies are soft, chewy cookies with a rich flavor, featuring a marbled effect from combining toasted milk and a classic cookie dough.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1/4 cup white sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup toasted milk powder
- 1/4 cup mini chocolate chips (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a medium pan, toast the milk powder over medium heat, stirring constantly, until it turns golden brown and has a nutty aroma. Set aside to cool.
- In a large bowl, cream together the butter, brown sugar, and white sugar until smooth.
- Add the egg and vanilla extract to the butter mixture and beat until combined.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, salt, and toasted milk powder.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until combined.
- If desired, fold in the mini chocolate chips.
- Drop rounded spoonfuls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
- Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
- You can adjust the amount of toasted milk powder for a more pronounced flavor.
- For a marble effect, swirl the chocolate chips into the dough before baking.
- Ensure the toasted milk powder cools completely before adding it to the dough to prevent melting the butter.
