Description
Tiramisu Cupcakes combine the classic flavors of tiramisu in a fun, individual-sized cupcake form. With layers of coffee-soaked cake, mascarpone frosting, and a dusting of cocoa powder, these cupcakes are a delicious twist on the traditional Italian dessert.

- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup buttermilk
- 1/4 cup brewed coffee, cooled
- 1 tablespoon coffee liqueur (optional)
- 1/2 cup mascarpone cheese
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
- 1 tablespoon cocoa powder (for dusting)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a muffin tin with paper liners.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
- In a large mixing bowl, beat the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy. Add the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
- Alternately add the dry ingredients and buttermilk to the butter mixture, starting and ending with the dry ingredients. Mix until just combined.
- Divide the batter evenly among the muffin cups, filling each about 2/3 full. Bake for 18–20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Let cool completely on a wire rack.
- Once the cupcakes have cooled, use a small spoon or straw to make a small hole in the center of each cupcake. Drizzle the brewed coffee and coffee liqueur (if using) into each hole, allowing the cupcakes to soak up the liquid.
- For the frosting, whip the mascarpone, heavy cream, and powdered sugar together until stiff peaks form. Pipe the frosting onto the cooled cupcakes using a piping bag or spread it with a spatula.
- Dust the tops of the cupcakes with cocoa powder before serving.
Notes
- For an extra indulgent touch, add a small piece of chocolate or a chocolate chip to the center of each cupcake.
- To make the cupcakes ahead of time, store them in an airtight container for up to 3 days, or freeze the cupcakes and frosting separately for up to 1 month.
