- 4 large onions
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1/2 cup cooked rice
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup tomato sauce
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons parsley, chopped
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Mix ground beef, cooked rice, garlic, salt, and pepper.
- Hollow out onions and place in a baking dish.
- Fill onions with the prepared mixture.
- Pour tomato sauce evenly over the stuffed onions.
- Cover and bake for 40 to 45 minutes until onions are tender.
- Remove foil, bake a few more minutes for slight browning, then serve warm.
Notes
- Use large onions for easier stuffing
- Do not overfill to prevent spilling
- Add enough sauce to keep the dish moist while baking
