Description

A delicious fusion of crispy crab rangoon and a creamy melt, featuring crab, cream cheese, and spicy seasonings on toasted bread. Perfect for appetizers or a fun twist on a classic melt.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 200g crab meat (imitation or real)
  • 100g cream cheese, softened
  • 2 tbsp mayonnaise
  • 1 tbsp sriracha sauce
  • 1 tsp soy sauce
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp onion powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 4 slices sandwich bread (or preferred bread)
  • 2 tbsp butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • Green onions, chopped, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix the crab meat, cream cheese, mayonnaise, sriracha, soy sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper until well combined.
  2. Spread butter on one side of each slice of bread.
  3. Heat a skillet over medium heat and toast the bread, buttered side down, until golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes per side.
  4. Once the bread is toasted, flip it over and evenly distribute the crab mixture on the unbuttered side of two slices of bread.
  5. Top each with a mixture of shredded mozzarella and cheddar cheese, then close the sandwich with the remaining bread slices, buttered side facing out.
  6. Return the sandwiches to the skillet and cook for 3-4 minutes per side, pressing down slightly, until the cheese is melted and the bread is crispy and golden.
  7. Remove from heat, slice, and garnish with chopped green onions if desired. Serve warm.

Notes

  • For extra crunch, you can add a handful of crispy fried onions to the sandwich before toasting.
  • If you prefer less heat, reduce the amount of sriracha or omit it entirely.
  • Pair with a side of dipping sauce, such as sweet chili sauce or soy sauce.
