Description

Smoked Salmon Toasts are a quick, elegant dish made with creamy herbed cheese, crisp sourdough, and savory smoked salmon. Perfect for brunch, lunch, or entertaining.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 oz. cream cheese, softened
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh dill
  • 1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice
  • 4 slices whole grain sourdough bread, toasted
  • 1/4 lb smoked salmon, thinly sliced
  • 1/4 cup thinly sliced red onion
  • 2 tablespoons capers
  • 1 tablespoon finely chopped fresh chives
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Toast sourdough bread slices until golden and crisp.
  2. In a small bowl, mix softened cream cheese with chopped dill, lemon juice, salt, and pepper until smooth.
  3. Spread the herbed cream cheese evenly over each toast.
  4. Top with smoked salmon slices, red onion, capers, and chopped chives.
  5. Sprinkle with additional salt and pepper if desired.
  6. Serve immediately and enjoy.

Notes

  • Toast bread just before assembling to keep it crisp.
  • Add lemon zest or a drizzle of olive oil for extra flavor.
  • Chill salmon until the last minute to keep it firm and fresh.
