Description

This Shrimp Spaghetti is a vibrant, garlicky pasta dish with tender shrimp, juicy tomatoes, and fresh herbs—all tossed with spaghetti in a light, flavorful sauce. A perfect balance of elegance and comfort, ready in just 30 minutes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 ounces Spaghetti: classic pasta base
  • 1 pound Shrimp: peeled and deveined
  • 3 tablespoons Olive Oil: base for sautéing and flavor
  • 4 cloves Garlic: thinly sliced for aroma and depth
  • 1.5 cups Cherry or Diced Tomatoes: adds sweetness and acidity
  • 1/2 teaspoon Crushed Red Pepper Flakes (optional): for heat
  • 1.5 teaspoons Salt: enhances all components
  • 1/2 teaspoon Black Pepper: balances spice and earthiness
  • 1/4 cup Fresh Parsley: chopped for freshness
  • 1 tablespoon Lemon Juice: brightens the dish
  • 1/2 cup Reserved Pasta Water: loosens and binds sauce

Instructions

  1. Preheat Your Equipment: Boil salted water in a large pot. Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  2. Combine Ingredients: Sauté garlic in olive oil until golden. Add tomatoes, pepper flakes, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 8–10 minutes.
  3. Prepare Your Cooking Vessel: Cook spaghetti until al dente. Reserve 1/2 cup pasta water, then drain.
  4. Assemble the Dish: Add shrimp to sauce and cook until pink. Add drained pasta to skillet.
  5. Cook to Perfection: Toss together, adding pasta water to loosen sauce.
  6. Finishing Touches: Stir in lemon juice and parsley. Adjust seasoning to taste.
  7. Serve and Enjoy: Plate with more parsley or a drizzle of olive oil, and serve hot.

Notes

  • Note: Use large shrimp for the best texture and bite.
  • Note: Do not overcook the shrimp—they become rubbery.
  • Note: Pasta water helps make the sauce silky and cohesive.
