Description

Crispy on the outside and melty on the inside, this Savory Tuna Melt Chaffle is a quick low carb meal packed with cheesy goodness and flavorful tuna. Perfect for breakfast, lunch, or a light dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 can (5 ounces, 140 g) canned tuna, drained
  • 1 cup (100 g) shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon chopped chives
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat waffle maker until fully heated and lightly grease if needed.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine drained tuna, shredded mozzarella cheese, eggs, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, chopped chives, salt, and black pepper. Mix until evenly combined.
  3. Spoon half of the mixture into the center of the waffle maker.
  4. Close the waffle maker gently and allow the mixture to spread naturally.
  5. Cook for 4 to 5 minutes, or until golden brown and crisp.
  6. Carefully remove the chaffle and let it rest for 1 minute to firm up slightly.
  7. Repeat with the remaining mixture.
  8. Serve warm and enjoy.

Notes

  • Drain the tuna thoroughly to prevent excess moisture.
  • For extra crispiness, cook one additional minute.
  • Cheddar cheese can be used instead of mozzarella for a sharper flavor.
  • Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days and reheat in a toaster or skillet.
