Description

Savory Puff Pastry with Minced Meat and Cheese is a flaky, golden pastry filled with a flavorful minced meat mixture and melted cheese. Perfect as an appetizer, snack, or quick dinner idea.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
  • 1/2 lb ground beef (or minced meat of choice)
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp dried oregano
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or a mix)
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • Sesame seeds or poppy seeds, for topping (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add onion and garlic, sauté until softened.
  3. Add minced meat, season with paprika, oregano, salt, and pepper. Cook until browned and fully cooked. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
  4. Roll out the puff pastry sheet on a lightly floured surface and cut into squares or rectangles.
  5. Place a spoonful of the meat mixture in the center of each pastry square, sprinkle with shredded cheese, and fold over to form a triangle or rectangle. Press edges with a fork to seal.
  6. Brush tops with beaten egg and sprinkle with sesame or poppy seeds if desired.
  7. Arrange pastries on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 15-18 minutes, or until golden brown and puffed.
  8. Serve warm and enjoy.

Notes

  • You can use lamb, turkey, or chicken mince as an alternative to beef.
  • Add chopped bell peppers or spinach to the filling for extra flavor and texture.
  • Make ahead and freeze unbaked pastries; bake directly from frozen, adding a few extra minutes.
