Description

Pizza Steak Skewers are a fun and delicious twist on pizza, featuring marinated steak chunks, colorful bell peppers, onions, and mozzarella cheese, all skewered and grilled to perfection. It’s a savory dish that combines the flavors of a classic pizza in an easy-to-eat skewer form.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb steak (sirloin or flank steak), cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 1 red bell pepper, cut into chunks
  • 1 yellow bell pepper, cut into chunks
  • 1 small onion, cut into chunks
  • 8 oz mozzarella cheese, cut into cubes
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • Wooden or metal skewers

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine olive oil, balsamic vinegar, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper to make the marinade.
  2. Add the steak cubes to the marinade and toss to coat. Let it marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours for more flavor.
  3. Preheat the grill or grill pan over medium-high heat. If using wooden skewers, soak them in water for 20 minutes to prevent burning.
  4. Thread the marinated steak cubes, bell pepper chunks, onion pieces, and mozzarella cubes onto the skewers, alternating the ingredients.
  5. Place the skewers on the grill and cook for about 8-10 minutes, turning occasionally, until the steak is cooked to your desired level of doneness and the vegetables are tender.
  6. Remove from the grill and serve immediately, garnishing with fresh basil or a drizzle of extra balsamic vinegar if desired.

Notes

  • You can add other pizza toppings such as olives, cherry tomatoes, or pepperoni to the skewers.
  • For a smoky flavor, try grilling the skewers over charcoal instead of a gas grill.
  • Serve these skewers with a side of marinara sauce for dipping, or a simple green salad.
