Description
Pioneer Woman Cheeseburger Pie brings all your favorite burger flavors together in a golden, cheesy baked pie. A quick and hearty meal perfect for busy weeknights or casual gatherings.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 large onion, chopped (about 1 cup)
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1/2 tsp salt
- Black pepper, to taste
- Garlic powder, to taste
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup Bisquick mix or 1/2 cup flour + 1/2 tsp baking powder + 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 cup whole milk
- 2 large eggs
Instructions
- Set the oven to 400°F. Grease a 9-inch pie dish.
- Sauté onion in a skillet for about 3 minutes. Add ground beef and cook until browned. Drain excess fat and season with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder.
- Spread the cooked beef mixture evenly in the pie dish. Sprinkle the top with shredded cheddar cheese.
- Whisk together Bisquick (or the flour mixture), whole milk, and eggs in a bowl until smooth. Pour the batter evenly over the beef and cheese in the pie dish.
- Bake the pie uncovered in the preheated oven for 20–25 minutes until the top is golden and the center is set.
- Allow the pie to rest for 5 minutes before slicing. Serve warm with a side of salad, pickles, or ketchup.
Notes
- For a crispier top, broil the pie for the last 1–2 minutes of baking.
- Use lean ground beef to reduce excess grease.
- Try adding cooked bacon bits or jalapeños for extra flavor.
