Description

This Pineapple Habanero Hot Sauce combines the tropical sweetness of fresh pineapple with the fiery heat of habanero peppers, creating a bold, sweet, and spicy condiment that elevates any dish. Perfect for drizzling over grilled meats, seafood, tacos, or using as a dipping sauce, this versatile and easy-to-make hot sauce delivers vibrant flavor in under 30 minutes.

Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients

  • 2 cups fresh pineapple chunks
  • 23 habanero peppers (adjust to taste)
  • 3 garlic cloves
  • 1/4 cup white vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons honey or brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 to 1/2 cup water (to desired consistency)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Ingredients: Peel and chop fresh pineapple into small chunks. Remove stems from habanero peppers and roughly chop them, wearing gloves to avoid irritation. Peel garlic cloves and squeeze fresh lime juice.
  2. Blend the Sauce: In a blender or food processor, combine pineapple chunks, chopped habaneros, garlic cloves, honey or brown sugar, lime juice, salt, and white vinegar. Blend until mostly smooth but leave a bit of texture. Add water slowly to reach your preferred consistency.
  3. Simmer to Marry Flavors: Pour the blended mixture into a saucepan and simmer over medium heat for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally to meld flavors and slightly thicken the sauce.
  4. Cool and Store: Remove from heat and allow the sauce to cool to room temperature. Transfer to sterilized jars or bottles and refrigerate. Sauce will keep fresh up to two weeks.

Notes

  • Wear gloves when handling habanero peppers to protect your skin from irritation.
  • Add habaneros gradually to control the spice level.
  • Use fresh, ripe pineapple for the best natural sweetness.
  • Pulse the blender for a chunkier sauce instead of blending continuously.
  • Allow the sauce to rest at least 24 hours in the fridge for flavors to deepen and harmonize.
