A mouthwatering fusion of pizza and burgers, these Pepperoni Pizza Burgers are packed with mozzarella, pepperoni, and pizza sauce for the ultimate comfort food experience.

- 6 ounces Renard’s Mozzarella cheese, shredded (1 1/2 cups)
- 1 cup diced pepperoni
- 3/4 cup pizza sauce, divided
- 1 tablespoon dried oregano
- 2 pounds ground beef (80% lean)
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 6 ounces Renard’s Mozzarella cheese, cut into six slices (1 ounce each)
- 6 hamburger buns, split
- Optional Toppings: extra pepperoni, pickled peppers, bell peppers, red onion, ripe olives
Instructions
- Preheat and grease the grill grate. Heat grill to medium.
- In a large bowl, combine shredded mozzarella, diced pepperoni, 1/2 cup pizza sauce, and dried oregano.
- Crumble ground beef over the mixture and mix just until combined.
- Form the mixture into six 1/3-pound patties. Season each with salt and pepper.
- Grill patties, covered, over medium heat for 5–8 minutes per side, or until internal temperature reaches 160°F.
- Top each patty with a mozzarella slice. Cover and cook for an additional 1–3 minutes until cheese is melted.
- Spread remaining 1/4 cup of pizza sauce on the bottom buns.
- Place patties on buns, add desired toppings, and close with top buns. Serve hot.
Notes
- Do not overmix the meat to keep the burgers tender.
- Use low-moisture mozzarella to avoid soggy patties.
- Burgers can be grilled or cooked in a cast iron skillet indoors.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
- Raw patties can be frozen for up to 3 months.
