Description

Nutella French Toast is a rich, gooey breakfast treat made with thick brioche bread, creamy Nutella, and a vanilla-scented custard — finished with powdered sugar and fresh berries.


Ingredients

  • 4 slices Brioche bread, about ¾” to 1″ thick
  • 4 tablespoons Nutella
  • 1 large Egg
  • ½ cup Whole milk or half and half
  • 1 tablespoon Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon Butter
  • Powdered sugar, for dusting
  • Fresh berries, for garnish


Instructions

  1. Preheat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together egg, milk, sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  3. Spread 2 tablespoons of Nutella on two slices of brioche. Top with the remaining slices to form sandwiches.
  4. Dip each sandwich into the custard mixture, coating both sides lightly.
  5. Melt butter in the skillet and cook the French toast for 2–3 minutes per side, until golden and crispy.
  6. Transfer to a plate, dust with powdered sugar, and top with fresh berries.
  7. Serve immediately while warm and gooey.

Notes

  • Use day-old bread for better structure and soaking.
  • Don’t over-soak to avoid sogginess.
  • Wipe excess custard from the pan between batches to prevent burning.
  • Slice with a serrated knife for clean presentation.
