Description
Nutella French Toast is a rich, gooey breakfast treat made with thick brioche bread, creamy Nutella, and a vanilla-scented custard — finished with powdered sugar and fresh berries.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 slices Brioche bread, about ¾” to 1″ thick
- 4 tablespoons Nutella
- 1 large Egg
- ½ cup Whole milk or half and half
- 1 tablespoon Sugar
- 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
- 1 tablespoon Butter
- Powdered sugar, for dusting
- Fresh berries, for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat.
- In a bowl, whisk together egg, milk, sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Spread 2 tablespoons of Nutella on two slices of brioche. Top with the remaining slices to form sandwiches.
- Dip each sandwich into the custard mixture, coating both sides lightly.
- Melt butter in the skillet and cook the French toast for 2–3 minutes per side, until golden and crispy.
- Transfer to a plate, dust with powdered sugar, and top with fresh berries.
- Serve immediately while warm and gooey.
Notes
- Use day-old bread for better structure and soaking.
- Don’t over-soak to avoid sogginess.
- Wipe excess custard from the pan between batches to prevent burning.
- Slice with a serrated knife for clean presentation.
