Description

Mississippi Lil Smokies are a quick and flavorful appetizer made with cocktail sausages slow-cooked in a zesty, buttery, and slightly spicy sauce. Perfect for parties and game days.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (14 oz) package Lil Smokies cocktail sausages
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter
  • 1 packet ranch seasoning mix (about 1 oz)
  • 1 packet au jus gravy mix (about 1 oz)
  • 68 pepperoncini peppers, whole or sliced
  • 1 tablespoon pepperoncini juice (optional, for extra tang)

Instructions

  1. Place Lil Smokies in a slow cooker or saucepan.
  2. Top with butter, ranch seasoning, au jus mix, pepperoncini peppers, and juice.
  3. Cover and cook on low for 2–3 hours (or simmer on stovetop over low heat for 30–40 minutes), stirring occasionally.
  4. Serve warm with toothpicks as an appetizer or over rice or mashed potatoes for a heartier meal.

Notes

  • Can be doubled for a crowd—just adjust seasoning to taste.
  • Use spicy Lil Smokies for an extra kick.
  • Leftovers store well in the fridge and reheat easily.
