Description

A luxurious surf-and-turf dish featuring tender filet mignon topped with juicy shrimp and finished with a silky lobster cream sauce — perfect for special occasions or an elegant dinner at home.


Ingredients

  • 4 filet mignon steaks (6 oz each)
  • 12 large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 tablespoons butter (divided)
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup lobster stock
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
  • Salt and black pepper to taste


Instructions

  1. Season filet mignon generously with salt and pepper. Heat a cast iron skillet over high heat.
  2. In a saucepan, melt 2 tablespoons butter. Add garlic and sauté until fragrant. Stir in lobster stock and reduce by half.
  3. Add cream, Parmesan, and lemon juice to the saucepan. Simmer until thickened, then keep warm.
  4. Add olive oil and 2 tablespoons butter to the skillet. Sear filet mignon for 3–4 minutes per side for medium-rare. Remove and let rest.
  5. In the same skillet, cook shrimp for 2–3 minutes until just pink.
  6. Plate filet mignon, top with shrimp, and spoon lobster cream sauce over the dish. Garnish with parsley.

Notes

  • Pat steaks dry before searing for a perfect crust.
  • Use a meat thermometer (130°F for medium-rare) for accuracy.
  • Make the sauce ahead of time and reheat gently before serving.
