Description

A breakfast delight combining fluffy muffin texture with the classic McGriddle flavors, featuring maple syrup and sausage for the perfect start to your day.


Ingredients

  • For the Muffins:
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup
  • For the Filling:
  • 4 sausage patties
  • 4 slices American cheese
  • 1 tbsp butter (for greasing)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a muffin tin with butter or line with paper liners.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and baking soda.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, buttermilk, melted butter, egg, vanilla extract, and maple syrup until smooth.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
  5. Divide the batter evenly into the muffin cups, filling each about 2/3 full.
  6. In a skillet over medium heat, cook the sausage patties until fully cooked, about 4-5 minutes per side. Set aside.
  7. Once the muffins are baked (about 15-18 minutes), remove them from the oven and let them cool slightly.
  8. Slice the muffins in half and place a sausage patty and a slice of cheese inside each muffin half. Close the muffins and serve warm.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, you can add a little cinnamon or nutmeg to the muffin batter.
  • Feel free to use turkey sausage or plant-based sausage for a different twist.
  • If you prefer a sweeter McGriddle, drizzle extra maple syrup over the muffins before serving.
