This Joe’s Crab Shack Crab Dip copycat recipe is creamy, cheesy, and loaded with tender lump crab meat. Perfect as a warm appetizer for parties, family gatherings, or cozy nights in.

- 8 oz package cream cheese or Neufchatel light cream cheese, softened
- ½ cup mayonnaise
- ½ cup light or regular sour cream
- 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- 1 tbsp grated white onion
- 12 oz lump crab meat (two 6-ounce cans)
- 1 tsp all-purpose seasoning salt (e.g., Lawry’s Seasoned Salt)
- ½ tsp Worcestershire sauce
- Juice of ½ lemon
- 2 tbsp finely chopped Italian parsley
- Tabasco sauce to taste
- Freshly ground black pepper to taste
- Crackers, baguette slices, or tortilla chips for serving
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a medium mixing bowl, combine cream cheese, mayonnaise, and sour cream until smooth.
- Add shredded cheddar cheese, grated onion, lump crab meat, seasoning salt, Worcestershire sauce, lemon juice, parsley, Tabasco, and black pepper. Mix well.
- Transfer the mixture to a small baking dish.
- Bake for 25–30 minutes or until golden brown and bubbly.
- Serve warm with crackers, baguette slices, or tortilla chips.
- Alternatively, for the slow cooker method, add all ingredients to a 3–4 quart slow cooker and stir to combine.
- Set to LOW and cook for 2 hours, stirring occasionally until fully melted.
- Switch to WARM setting and keep for up to 1 hour, stirring occasionally.
Notes
- Use fresh lump crab meat for best flavor.
- For a spicier dip, add more Tabasco or diced jalapeños.
- Serve immediately to enjoy the creamy texture.
- Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
