Description

Our Jerk Shrimp Fettuccine Alfredo blends creamy Italian Alfredo sauce with bold Jamaican jerk-seasoned shrimp for a spicy, savory fusion pasta that’s ready in under 35 minutes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 20 shrimp, shells removed and deveined
  • 2 teaspoons jerk marinade
  • 2 teaspoons salted butter
  • 8 oz fettuccine or other long pasta noodle
  • 2 teaspoons jerk marinade
  • 8 oz butter, cubed
  • 8 oz Parmesan, plus additional for serving
  • 2 green onions, thinly sliced for serving

Instructions

  1. Toss shrimp with 2 teaspoons jerk marinade in a small bowl. Set aside.
  2. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Use 1 tablespoon of salt for every 4 cups of water. Cook pasta until very al dente (about 2 minutes less than package instructions).
  3. Heat 2 teaspoons of butter in a sauté pan over medium-high heat. Cook shrimp for 4-5 minutes, turning once, until bright orange and lightly caramelized. Transfer shrimp to a bowl and set aside.
  4. Return the pan to low heat without cleaning. Remove 1 1/2 cups of pasta water and set aside. Add remaining 2 teaspoons jerk marinade, 1/4 cup of pasta water, and 8 oz cubed butter. Stir to emulsify.
  5. Add fettuccine to the sauce and toss to coat. Add pasta water 2 tablespoons at a time as needed to maintain creaminess.
  6. Gradually stir in Parmesan cheese, allowing it to melt into the sauce. Continue adjusting with pasta water for desired consistency.
  7. Return shrimp to the pan and toss with pasta. Garnish with sliced green onions and additional Parmesan. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • Use fresh shrimp for best flavor and texture.
  • Adjust jerk marinade quantity for desired spice level.
  • Reserve extra pasta water to maintain a creamy sauce.
  • Serve with garlic bread and a green salad for a complete meal.
