Description

Juicy Italian sausage burgers loaded with spicy sausage, melted Muenster cheese, and sautéed peppers and onions, all tucked into buttery brioche buns for the ultimate flavor-packed meal.


Ingredients

  • 8 ounces bulk hot sausage
  • 2 ounces salami, diced
  • 1/4 cup peppers, diced
  • 12 cherry tomatoes, halved
  • 1/2 onion, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon garlic, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 brioche buns
  • 3 slices Muenster cheese
  • 1 tablespoon fennel seeds
  • Cooking spray


Instructions

  1. Spray a skillet or grill pan with cooking spray and heat over medium.
  2. In a bowl, mix hot sausage, diced salami, fennel seeds, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Form into 3 patties.
  3. Heat olive oil in a skillet. Sauté onions, peppers, and garlic until soft, then add cherry tomatoes and cook for another 2 minutes. Remove and set aside.
  4. In the same pan, cook the sausage patties for 4–5 minutes per side until cooked through.
  5. During the last minute, top each patty with a slice of Muenster cheese and cover until melted.
  6. Lightly toast brioche buns in the skillet or oven.
  7. Assemble the burgers: layer sautéed veggies on the bottom bun, place the cheesy sausage patty on top, and finish with more tomatoes. Serve warm.

Notes

  • Do not overmix the sausage mixture; this keeps the patties juicy.
  • Toast the buns for a perfect crunch.
  • For extra spice, add crushed red pepper flakes or spicy aioli.
