Description
Juicy Italian sausage burgers loaded with spicy sausage, melted Muenster cheese, and sautéed peppers and onions, all tucked into buttery brioche buns for the ultimate flavor-packed meal.
Ingredients
Scale
- 8 ounces bulk hot sausage
- 2 ounces salami, diced
- 1/4 cup peppers, diced
- 12 cherry tomatoes, halved
- 1/2 onion, chopped
- 1 teaspoon garlic, chopped
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 3 brioche buns
- 3 slices Muenster cheese
- 1 tablespoon fennel seeds
- Cooking spray
Instructions
- Spray a skillet or grill pan with cooking spray and heat over medium.
- In a bowl, mix hot sausage, diced salami, fennel seeds, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Form into 3 patties.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet. Sauté onions, peppers, and garlic until soft, then add cherry tomatoes and cook for another 2 minutes. Remove and set aside.
- In the same pan, cook the sausage patties for 4–5 minutes per side until cooked through.
- During the last minute, top each patty with a slice of Muenster cheese and cover until melted.
- Lightly toast brioche buns in the skillet or oven.
- Assemble the burgers: layer sautéed veggies on the bottom bun, place the cheesy sausage patty on top, and finish with more tomatoes. Serve warm.
Notes
- Do not overmix the sausage mixture; this keeps the patties juicy.
- Toast the buns for a perfect crunch.
- For extra spice, add crushed red pepper flakes or spicy aioli.
