Description

Hot Fudge is a rich, velvety chocolate sauce that is perfect for drizzling over ice cream, cakes, or brownies. It’s quick to make and delivers a sweet, indulgent treat with every bite.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 ounces semisweet chocolate, chopped

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan, combine heavy cream, cocoa powder, sugar, butter, and salt. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until the mixture comes to a simmer.
  2. Continue to cook for 3–5 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken slightly.
  3. Remove from heat and stir in chopped semisweet chocolate and vanilla extract until smooth and fully combined.
  4. Let the sauce cool slightly before serving over ice cream, cakes, or your favorite dessert.

Notes

  • Store any leftover hot fudge in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week. Reheat before serving.
  • For a richer flavor, use bittersweet chocolate instead of semisweet.
  • For a thinner sauce, add a little more cream or milk while reheating.
