Description
Hot Fudge is a rich, velvety chocolate sauce that is perfect for drizzling over ice cream, cakes, or brownies. It’s quick to make and delivers a sweet, indulgent treat with every bite.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 2 ounces semisweet chocolate, chopped
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan, combine heavy cream, cocoa powder, sugar, butter, and salt. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until the mixture comes to a simmer.
- Continue to cook for 3–5 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken slightly.
- Remove from heat and stir in chopped semisweet chocolate and vanilla extract until smooth and fully combined.
- Let the sauce cool slightly before serving over ice cream, cakes, or your favorite dessert.
Notes
- Store any leftover hot fudge in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week. Reheat before serving.
- For a richer flavor, use bittersweet chocolate instead of semisweet.
- For a thinner sauce, add a little more cream or milk while reheating.
