Description

Warm, smooth, and just sweet enough, this Hot Brown Sugar Shaken Espresso blends bold espresso, cinnamon-spiced brown sugar syrup, and creamy milk into the coziest homemade coffee treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 shots espresso
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 pinch cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon hot water
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 3 ice cubes (for shaking only)

Instructions

  1. Brew 2 shots of espresso and set aside.
  2. In a small bowl, mix the brown sugar, cinnamon, and hot water until fully dissolved.
  3. Pour the espresso and brown sugar syrup into a mason jar or cocktail shaker with 3 ice cubes.
  4. Shake vigorously for 20–30 seconds until the mixture is chilled and lightly foamy.
  5. Meanwhile, warm and froth the milk using a milk frother or in a saucepan.
  6. Strain the shaken espresso into a mug, discarding the ice.
  7. Pour the warm frothed milk over the espresso and stir gently.
  8. Top with a pinch of cinnamon and serve hot.

Notes

  • Use dark brown sugar for a deeper, more caramel flavor.
  • Shaking well is key to getting that frothy texture.
  • Pre-warm your mug to help retain heat longer.
  • Substitute with oat, almond, or soy milk for a dairy-free option.
