Description

Crispy fried shrimp tossed in a creamy honey sauce and finished with crunchy walnuts. A sweet, savory, and indulgent dish inspired by a classic restaurant favorite, perfect for special dinners or sharing.

Ingredients

  • Raw shrimp, 500 g, peeled and deveined
  • Walnuts, 1 cup
  • Honey, ⅓ cup
  • Mayonnaise, ½ cup
  • Cornstarch, ½ cup
  • All-purpose flour, ½ cup
  • Large eggs, 2
  • Neutral cooking oil, for frying

Instructions

  1. Heat neutral cooking oil in a deep skillet or pot over medium heat.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together the honey and mayonnaise until smooth and glossy. Set aside.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix the cornstarch and all-purpose flour. Beat the eggs in another bowl.
  4. Dip the shrimp first into the egg, then coat evenly with the flour and cornstarch mixture.
  5. Fry the shrimp in small batches for 2 to 3 minutes per side until golden and crisp. Remove and drain on paper towels.
  6. Once all shrimp are cooked, gently toss them with the honey sauce.
  7. Fold in the walnuts, coating them lightly with the sauce.
  8. Serve immediately while warm and crisp.

Notes

  • Fry shrimp in batches to keep the oil temperature steady.
  • Toss shrimp in sauce just before serving to maintain crispness.
  • Walnuts can be prepared ahead of time and stored airtight.
