Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ground chicken
- 4 whole wheat burger buns
- 4 cheddar cheese slices
- 4 fresh lettuce leaves
- 1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
Instructions
- Heat a skillet over medium heat and add olive oil.
- In a mixing bowl, gently combine ground chicken, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper until just mixed.
- Shape the mixture into 4 equal patties, pressing a slight indent in the center of each.
- Place patties in the skillet and cook for 5 to 6 minutes per side until golden and fully cooked to an internal temperature of 165 degrees Fahrenheit.
- During the last minute of cooking, place one cheddar slice on each patty and allow it to melt.
- In a small bowl, stir together Greek yogurt and Dijon mustard to make the sauce.
- Lightly toast the whole wheat buns in the skillet.
- Spread the yogurt sauce on the buns, add the chicken patties with melted cheese, top with lettuce leaves, and assemble. Serve warm.
Notes
- Do not overmix the chicken to keep the patties tender.
- Let the patties rest for a few minutes before assembling to retain juices.
- Reheat leftovers gently in a skillet or oven at 350 degrees Fahrenheit until warmed through.
