Description

Flaky, spiced puff pastry twists filled with rich hazelnut spread and chai-inspired spices. Perfect for breakfast, tea time, or a sweet snack.


Ingredients

  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
  • 1/3 cup hazelnut spread
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cardamom
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1 egg, beaten


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Mix cinnamon, cardamom, ginger, and cloves in a small bowl.
  3. Roll out puff pastry slightly on a floured surface.
  4. Spread hazelnut spread evenly over the pastry and sprinkle spice mixture on top.
  5. Cut the pastry into 1-inch strips. Twist each strip several times and place on prepared baking sheet.
  6. Brush the tops with beaten egg.
  7. Bake 15–18 minutes until puffed and golden brown.
  8. Let cool slightly before serving, optionally dusting with powdered sugar.

Notes

  • Keep puff pastry cold until ready to use for maximum flakiness.
  • Use an offset spatula to spread the hazelnut filling evenly.
  • Brush with egg wash for a shiny golden finish.
