Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons fresh dill, chopped
  • 1/4 cup beef broth

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, onion, garlic, egg, salt, and pepper. Form the mixture into four patties.
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook the patties for 4-5 minutes per side, or until browned and cooked through. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add the beef broth and bring to a simmer. Scrape up any brown bits from the pan.
  4. Stir in the heavy cream, Dijon mustard, lemon juice, and fresh dill. Cook for 2-3 minutes, until the sauce thickens slightly.
  5. Return the patties to the skillet, spooning the sauce over them. Simmer for another 5 minutes to heat through.
  6. Serve the hamburger steaks with the creamy dill sauce on top.

Notes
