Description

A decadent twist on classic grilled cheese, this gourmet version combines creamy mascarpone, sweet strawberries, and tangy balsamic glaze between buttery slices of crusty bread for a perfectly crispy, indulgent bite.


Ingredients

  • 4 slices crusty white bread (preferably French loaf)
  • 4 tablespoons butter, melted
  • ¾ cup mascarpone cheese, at room temperature
  • 3 teaspoons white sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup strawberries, sliced
  • 4 tablespoons balsamic glaze
  • Black pepper, to taste


Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, mix mascarpone cheese, sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
  2. Brush one side of each bread slice with melted butter.
  3. Spread the mascarpone mixture on the unbuttered sides of two bread slices. Top with sliced strawberries and drizzle with balsamic glaze. Sprinkle with black pepper.
  4. Place the remaining bread slices on top, buttered side out.
  5. Heat a nonstick skillet over medium-low heat. Cook sandwiches for 2–3 minutes per side until golden brown and crisp.
  6. Transfer to a plate, drizzle with extra balsamic glaze, and serve warm.
