- 4 slices crusty white bread (preferably French loaf)
- 4 tablespoons butter, melted
- ¾ cup mascarpone cheese, at room temperature
- 3 teaspoons white sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup strawberries, sliced
- 4 tablespoons balsamic glaze
- Black pepper, to taste
Instructions
- In a small bowl, mix mascarpone cheese, sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
- Brush one side of each bread slice with melted butter.
- Spread the mascarpone mixture on the unbuttered sides of two bread slices. Top with sliced strawberries and drizzle with balsamic glaze. Sprinkle with black pepper.
- Place the remaining bread slices on top, buttered side out.
- Heat a nonstick skillet over medium-low heat. Cook sandwiches for 2–3 minutes per side until golden brown and crisp.
- Transfer to a plate, drizzle with extra balsamic glaze, and serve warm.
