Description

Garlic Chicken Parmesan is a crispy, cheesy, garlicky Italian-American favorite made with golden breaded chicken, marinara sauce, and melty mozzarella for the ultimate comfort food experience.


Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup parmesan cheese, finely grated
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 3 cloves fresh garlic, minced
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 2 tablespoons fresh basil, chopped
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and prepare a baking dish.
  2. Mix panko, parmesan, garlic powder, salt, and pepper in a shallow bowl. Place flour in another, and beaten eggs in a third.
  3. Pound chicken breasts evenly, then dredge in flour, dip in eggs, and coat with breadcrumb mixture.
  4. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high and pan-fry chicken until golden, about 3 minutes per side.
  5. Transfer to baking dish. Spread marinara on the bottom, place chicken on top, spoon sauce over, and sprinkle mozzarella.
  6. Bake 20 minutes until cheese is bubbly and melted. Garnish with fresh basil.
  7. Let rest 5 minutes, then serve hot with pasta, salad, or bread.

Notes

  • Use panko breadcrumbs for extra crunch.
  • Layer cheese under and over the sauce for gooey perfection.
  • Don’t overbake to keep chicken juicy.
