Description

Garlic Butter Beef Bites with Creamy Mashed Potatoes is a comforting and flavorful dinner featuring tender, juicy beef pieces coated in rich garlic butter sauce, served over smooth, velvety mashed potatoes. This quick and easy recipe is perfect for busy weeknights and appeals to the whole family, offering a classic combination that is both satisfying and customizable.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Beef Bites

  • 1 lb beef sirloin or tenderloin, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 3 tbsp butter
  • 3 cloves fresh garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Fresh parsley (optional, for garnish)

For the Mashed Potatoes

  • 2 lbs Russet or Yukon Gold potatoes, peeled and cut into chunks
  • 1/2 cup milk or cream (warm)
  • 3 tbsp butter
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Prep the Potatoes: Peel and cut potatoes into even chunks for uniform cooking. Boil potatoes in salted water until fork-tender, about 15 to 20 minutes. Drain thoroughly and set aside to dry.
  2. Mash the Potatoes: Return drained potatoes to pot or warm bowl. Add warm milk or cream and butter, then mash until smooth and creamy. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Cover to keep warm.
  3. Prepare the Beef Bites: Cut beef into bite-sized pieces and season lightly with salt and pepper. Heat butter in a skillet over medium-high heat until melted and foamy. Add minced garlic and cook just until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
  4. Cook the Beef: Add beef pieces to the skillet and sear for 2-3 minutes per side until browned and cooked to desired doneness. Stir frequently to coat evenly with garlic butter sauce.
  5. Plate and Garnish: Serve garlic butter beef bites over the creamy mashed potatoes. Sprinkle with fresh parsley if desired for a pop of color and fresh flavor.

Notes

  • Choose tender cuts of beef such as sirloin or tenderloin for juicy bites.
  • Don’t overcrowd the pan to ensure a good sear instead of steaming the beef.
  • Use cold butter in chunks for better sauce emulsification and a silky finish.
  • Let potatoes air dry after boiling to improve texture of mashed potatoes.
  • Season gradually, tasting as you go to balance flavors perfectly.
