Ingredients
Scale
- 12 filo pastry sheets
- 8 ounces feta cheese block, crumbled
- ¼ cup olive oil
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
- 1 teaspoon black seeds
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, crumble the feta cheese and mix with black pepper.
- Lay one sheet of filo pastry on a clean surface and lightly brush with olive oil. Place a second sheet on top and brush again.
- Cut the layered filo sheets in half lengthwise.
- Place a thin line of crumbled feta along one long edge and roll tightly into a slim cigar shape. Repeat with remaining sheets and filling.
- Place rolls seam side down on the prepared baking sheet. Brush tops lightly with olive oil and sprinkle with sesame and black seeds.
- Bake for 18 to 22 minutes until golden brown and crisp. Let cool slightly before serving.
Notes
- Keep filo pastry covered with a damp towel while working to prevent drying.
- Do not overfill the rolls to avoid bursting during baking.
- Reheat leftovers in the oven at 350°F for 8 minutes to restore crispness.
- For added flavor, mix in chopped herbs or a pinch of chili flakes.
