Description

Elote Dogs are a fusion of classic hot dogs and Mexican street corn (elote), topped with a creamy, tangy, and cheesy corn mixture that delivers bold flavor in every bite.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 hot dog buns
  • 4 beef or chicken hot dogs
  • 1 cup corn kernels (fresh, canned, or frozen)
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup crumbled cotija cheese (or feta)
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 tablespoon chopped cilantro (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Grill or pan-fry the hot dogs until fully cooked and slightly charred.
  2. In a skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add the corn kernels and sauté for 5–7 minutes until lightly browned. Season with salt and pepper.
  3. In a bowl, mix mayonnaise, sour cream, lime juice, chili powder, and smoked paprika.
  4. Add the cooked corn and half of the cotija cheese to the mixture. Stir to combine.
  5. Toast the hot dog buns if desired.
  6. Place hot dogs in the buns, then top generously with the elote mixture.
  7. Sprinkle with remaining cotija cheese and chopped cilantro. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • You can use frozen corn, but make sure to thaw and dry it first for better caramelization.
  • Try adding jalapeño slices for an extra kick.
  • Use plant-based hot dogs and dairy-free alternatives for a vegan version.
