Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 cup Coca Cola
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups chocolate frosting


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease and flour your baking pan.
  2. In one bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, cocoa, and baking soda.
  3. In another bowl, combine eggs, Coca Cola, oil, buttermilk, and vanilla extract.
  4. Pour wet ingredients into dry and mix until just combined.
  5. Pour batter into prepared pan and smooth the top.
  6. Bake for 30–35 minutes, until a toothpick comes out with moist crumbs.
  7. Let cake cool for 10 minutes, then frost with chocolate frosting.
  8. Slice and serve as desired.

Notes

  • Don’t overmix the batter to keep it soft and tender.
  • Frost while slightly warm for gooey deliciousness.
  • Add flaky salt on top to enhance the chocolate flavor.
