Description

Dollywood Cinnamon Bread is a sweet, buttery, pull-apart bread coated in cinnamon sugar and drizzled with icing, inspired by the famous treat from Dollywood theme park.


Ingredients

  • 1 loaf frozen bread dough, thawed
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a loaf pan.
  2. In a small bowl, mix the granulated sugar and cinnamon together.
  3. On a floured surface, stretch and flatten the dough into a rectangle.
  4. Brush the dough generously with melted butter.
  5. Sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture evenly over the dough.
  6. Use a sharp knife to cut the dough lengthwise into 4 strips, then crosswise into 4 strips, creating 16 pieces.
  7. Stack the dough pieces loosely and place them in the prepared loaf pan.
  8. Brush the top with additional melted butter and sprinkle with more cinnamon-sugar mixture if desired.
  9. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through.
  10. In a small bowl, whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla to make the icing.
  11. Drizzle the icing over the warm bread before serving.

Notes

  • Allow the bread to cool slightly before icing for a thicker glaze.
  • You can add chopped nuts or raisins for extra texture.
