- 1 pound raw shrimp, peeled and deveined with tails on
- 1/4 cup honey
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 3 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
- 1/4 teaspoon salt, or to taste
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper, freshly ground
Instructions
- Pat the shrimp dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture.
- In a small bowl, whisk together honey and soy sauce. Set aside.
- Heat olive oil and 1 tablespoon of butter in a large skillet over medium heat until melted.
- Add shrimp in a single layer and season with salt and black pepper. Cook for 2 minutes per side until pink and opaque. Remove shrimp from the skillet and set aside.
- Add remaining butter and minced garlic to the skillet. Cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Pour in the honey soy mixture and add red pepper flakes. Simmer for 2 to 3 minutes until the sauce slightly thickens.
- Return shrimp to the skillet and toss to coat evenly in the sauce.
- Sprinkle with fresh parsley and serve immediately.
Notes
- Do not overcook the shrimp to keep them tender and juicy.
- If the sauce thickens too much, add a tablespoon of water to loosen it.
- Serve over rice, noodles, or steamed vegetables.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
