Description

Juicy shrimp coated in a glossy honey garlic butter sauce with a perfect balance of sweet and savory flavors. Quick to prepare and packed with bold taste, this sticky shrimp dish is ideal for an easy weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound raw shrimp, peeled and deveined with tails on
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt, or to taste
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper, freshly ground

Instructions

  1. Pat the shrimp dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together honey and soy sauce. Set aside.
  3. Heat olive oil and 1 tablespoon of butter in a large skillet over medium heat until melted.
  4. Add shrimp in a single layer and season with salt and black pepper. Cook for 2 minutes per side until pink and opaque. Remove shrimp from the skillet and set aside.
  5. Add remaining butter and minced garlic to the skillet. Cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  6. Pour in the honey soy mixture and add red pepper flakes. Simmer for 2 to 3 minutes until the sauce slightly thickens.
  7. Return shrimp to the skillet and toss to coat evenly in the sauce.
  8. Sprinkle with fresh parsley and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Do not overcook the shrimp to keep them tender and juicy.
  • If the sauce thickens too much, add a tablespoon of water to loosen it.
  • Serve over rice, noodles, or steamed vegetables.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
