Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups cooked chicken breast, thinly sliced or shredded
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1/2 cup sliced green bell pepper
- 1/2 cup sliced red bell pepper
- 1/2 cup sliced onion
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- 4 croissants, sliced open
- 4 slices provolone cheese
- Optional: mayonnaise or mustard for spreading
Instructions
- In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add onions and bell peppers. Sauté for 5–7 minutes until soft and slightly caramelized.
- Add cooked chicken to the skillet. Season with garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Stir and heat through for 3–4 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Slice croissants in half and place them on a baking sheet. If desired, spread a thin layer of mayonnaise or mustard on the bottom halves.
- Divide the chicken and pepper mixture evenly among the croissants. Top each with a slice of provolone cheese.
- Place the top halves of the croissants back on and bake in the oven for 5–7 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the croissants are warm and slightly crispy.
- Serve warm with your favorite side.
Notes
- Use rotisserie chicken for convenience and added flavor.
- Try mozzarella or cheddar if you don’t have provolone.
- Add sautéed mushrooms for extra depth.
- Lightly toast croissants before assembling for a crispier texture.
