Description

Crispy mini phyllo cups filled with creamy Cajun seasoned shrimp and melted cheese, baked until golden and perfect for parties, appetizers, or entertaining.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound raw shrimp, peeled, deveined, and finely chopped
  • 2 teaspoons Cajun seasoning
  • 1 tablespoon all purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter, melted
  • 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, finely chopped
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black sesame seeds
  • 15 to 18 mini phyllo pastry shells

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, toss the chopped shrimp with Cajun seasoning, flour, salt, and melted butter until evenly coated.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix softened cream cheese, shredded mozzarella, minced garlic, and chopped parsley until smooth.
  4. Fold the seasoned shrimp into the cheese mixture and stir gently to combine.
  5. Arrange the mini phyllo pastry shells on the prepared baking sheet.
  6. Spoon the shrimp mixture evenly into each shell, filling just to the top.
  7. Sprinkle black sesame seeds lightly over each filled cup.
  8. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes, until the filling is set and the tops are lightly golden.
  9. Allow to cool slightly before serving warm.

Notes

  • Pat shrimp dry before mixing to prevent excess moisture.
  • Do not overfill the shells to keep them crisp.
  • Reheat leftovers in the oven at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 5 to 7 minutes to restore crispness.
