Description
A rich and comforting one-skillet dinner, this Creamy Garlic Parmesan Tortellini with Sausage and Broccoli combines cheesy tortellini, savory sausage, tender broccoli, and a velvety garlic cream sauce for the ultimate pasta night.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb Italian sausage (or turkey/chicken sausage)
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 1 cup heavy cream (or half-and-half)
- 1 cup grated parmesan cheese
- 1 tbsp Italian seasoning
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 16 oz cheese tortellini
- 2 cups broccoli florets, lightly cooked
- 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Bring a medium pot of salted water to a boil. Cook tortellini according to package directions, adding broccoli florets in the last 2 minutes. Drain and set aside.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add sausage and cook until browned, breaking it into crumbles. Remove with a slotted spoon and set aside.
- In the same skillet, sauté minced garlic for about 30 seconds. Add chicken broth and bring to a simmer.
- Stir in heavy cream, parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Simmer until slightly thickened.
- Return sausage to the skillet. Add cooked tortellini and broccoli, stirring gently to coat in the sauce.
- Turn off heat, sprinkle with fresh parsley, and serve hot with extra parmesan if desired.
Notes
- Use freshly grated parmesan for best melt and flavor.
- Don’t boil the sauce after adding cheese—it may separate.
- Reserve some pasta water in case you want to loosen the sauce.
