Description

Creamy, cheesy copycat Applebee’s dip made with spinach, mozzarella, parmesan, and a rich cream cheese base. Baked until hot and bubbly, this crowd pleasing appetizer is perfect for parties and cozy nights in.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese, divided
  • 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese, divided
  • 2 cups fresh spinach, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine softened cream cheese, sour cream, mayonnaise, 1/2 cup mozzarella, and 1/4 cup parmesan. Mix until smooth and creamy.
  3. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add minced garlic and cook for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Add chopped spinach to the skillet and sauté for 2 to 3 minutes until wilted. Remove from heat.
  5. Stir the cooked spinach and garlic mixture into the creamy cheese mixture. Add salt and black pepper and mix well.
  6. Transfer the mixture to a small baking dish and spread evenly.
  7. Top with the remaining 1/2 cup mozzarella and 1/4 cup parmesan.
  8. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes until hot, melted, and lightly golden on top.
  9. Let rest for 5 minutes before serving warm with chips, crackers, or toasted bread.

Notes

  • Make sure spinach is not watery to keep the dip thick and creamy.
  • Use freshly grated cheese for smoother melting and better flavor.
  • The dip can be assembled ahead of time and refrigerated before baking.
  • Reheat leftovers gently to maintain a creamy texture.
